The meeting itself was attended by people of mostly younger age who, thanks to their knowledge, work experience and life circumstances, are currently settled in many world capitals.
The second "Zenica Meet Up" was attended by new participants, as well as representatives of the City of Bijeljina, Mrs. Milica Stolica and Mr. Nermin Zejnilović. The mentioned duo will host us on March 31 at the first "Bijeljina Meet Up", which we are realizing in cooperation with the leaders of the City.
Numerous suggestions
The point of such or similar meetings whose ideological creator is the i-platform is to listen to the needs and wishes of our citizens, who, although they do not currently live in their hometowns, still want to improve their community.
In this regard, thanks to the convenient infrastructure, sports arena, stadiums, as well as numerous hotels, the participants agree that Zenica should continue to invest in sports and sporting events, organize numerous sports events, invest additional funds in small sports such as futsal or table tennis, and rugby, and the Zenica rugby club, as one of the most promising, to return to its former glory.
However, apart from sports, there was also talk about the potential of the Smetovi picnic area, where, a few days ago, the cornerstone was laid for the construction of an eco house worth nearly 900,000 BAM, which will be "home" of all scouts and BiH citizens. According to the participants, Smetovi could be turned into a respectable ski center if investors would recognize the idea. However, one of the biggest problems that this resort faces is the lack of water and sewage network, which greatly slows down all further activities.
Digitization and orientation of Zenica towards the concept of Smart City is also one of the many ideas that we had the opportunity to hear from promising citizens of Zenica. However, the activities that young people, although they do not stay in their city, already carry out are numerous educations and work with children, humanitarian actions, organization of trips to other cities etc., which will certainly continue in the future.
