Zavidovići Meet Up

Plans for future initiatives marked the second Zavidovići Meetup

The second Zavidovići Meetup was organized on November 24. In New Year’s Eve spirit and positive energy, the scheduled meeting served as a reminder of numerous successfully realized projects, but it also announced the future initiatives that are aimed at promoting women entrepreneurship and empowerment, as well as ecotourism and ecotourism potential that this local community has.

After the introductory speeches, Elma Kablar, an ultra-runner and English professor that comes from Zenica, addressed the gathered assembly and talked about her idea of organizing the first next green eco race on Mountain Tajan and the protected area of this precious national monument with the help of the community of Zavidovići. The suggested idea was welcomed eagerly and warmly.

The project Balkan Coop that aims at supporting local businessmen and organic production was then represented. Successful initiatives and businessmen that started organic entrepreneurship and are now exporting into foreign markets were also introduced and represented. Members of Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora in Switzerland and all around the world are willing to support local community and similar initiatives by ensuring the financial aid, empowerment, and employment of a greater number of people.

The second Zavidovići Meetup was concluded with proposals and recommendations for the new ideas, with the most prominent ones being related to the creation and realization of the projects that focus on youth and youth education programs. As those who can contribute significantly to these educational initiatives are young people born in Zavidovići that now study all around the world.

Fresh energy and vision for the future work marked the second Zavidovići Meetup. Surrounded by the positive energy, the gathered participants and invitees arranged and set out a great number of interesting activities and concrete plans that will be realized in the following months.
