Tarik Kapic - newly elected President of the Steering Board of the i-Diaspora

Until recently, a member of the Steering Board, Mr. Tarik Kapic, replaced the respected member of our team, and the current member of the Steering Board, Mr. Edin Dacic, in the position of President of the Steering Board of the i-Diaspora. In his new position, Mr. Kapic will spend the next two years.

Biography

Although originally from Bugojno, Mr. Tarik Kapic was born in Zenica. Like many Bosnians and Herzegovinians, in October 1993, with some members of his family, he fled to Switzerland, where he still lives and works. He graduated from two faculties in that country, and today he is the proud owner of the title of graduate engineer of telecommunications, but also of legal sciences. But he is best known in the world under the title of intellectual property lawyer. Less than 10,000 people in Europe are involved in this protected profession.

He speaks very openly about "Swiss liberalism" which allowed him to be what he essentially is. "In this wonderful country, you don't have to be completely Swiss. There is much less pressure on foreigners than in other European, mono-national countries. All of the above is reflected, for example, in the fact that in no way will you feel less important if you use your native language in casual speech. Integration and assimilation in this country are going in a really positive direction, and rarely will a Bosnian or Herzegovinian face the loss of his national identity," Mr Kapic said.

He is married and the father of one child.

Strong faith in the i-diaspora

Very satisfied with the progress of the i-diaspora, and the i-platform as an online platform, Mr. Kapic does not hide his satisfaction with the results so far. He cites the growing recognition of the i-diaspora in many European countries as one of the most important. "The need for i-diaspora is growing day by day. More and more diaspora organizations are turning to us, participating in more and more projects every day, becoming recognizable in the BiH media, expanding our network, and, ultimately, showing incredible potential," he added.

Although we have faced many challenges in recent years, he believes that the fact that the i-Diaspora has become an organization of every man in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also abroad, regardless of nationality, is one of the major successes of our team. "This is neither a Bosniak, nor a Croat, nor a Serb project. This is a project of all of us who love and feel Bosnia and Herzegovina, wherever we are," concludes Mr. Kapic.

The focus of future work of employees and members of the i-diaspora is the opening of an office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, called "i-diaspora B&H", which will certainly be registered as a legal entity and will participate in projects that are not necessarily correlated with i- diaspora in Switzerland. In the meantime, we continue to work on the implementation of the "5 million friends of B&H" project, which the i-diaspora is implementing in cooperation with our strategic partner, the "La Terra Nostra" Foundation.
