Successful Networking Event for the Diaspora and Domestic Companies in BiH

Restart – the business embassy for the BiH diaspora organised with the support of MarketMakers and the Swiss Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina its biggest networking event in Sarajevo on 11th August 2016. The networking event was open to all people, who are interested in making BiH a better place regarding life and work.

The event was attended by approximately 150 participants from BiH and the diaspora.

“This event is a great method to connect organisations and individuals from around the world, to give them the possibility to present their ideas and find partners for their projects”, said Salih Music for Akta.ba, director of Restart.

He adds that even though a lot of people have doubts, the team Restart considers that it is possible to establish a successful company with high quality employees, which offers services corresponding with the requirements on the world markets.

This statement is underlined by the high number of investments from the diaspora in companies, which nowadays work for international clients in USA, Western Europe, Australia and other countries.

Nevertheless, these examples are mostly private initiatives, while for big steps and large investments it is necessary to form an ‘ecosystem’, a complete infrastructure which aims to change the image of Bosnia and Herzegovina from a country destroyed by the war and full of conflicts to a destination for business, he mentioned.

He considers that BiH, besides of several deficiencies, does have big advantages as well as the possibility to develop a business. “Therefore it is important to bring all key actors together, which will through their effort, persistent work and good quality projects create preconditions for the economic development of our country”, Music said.

The event was organised in cooperation with the organisations APU Network – Sweden, i-platform – Switzerland, Stecak – Norway, BAPA – USA, Bosnian-American Friendship Association – Bosnia and Herzegovina and many more.
