The (H)AJMO! Event Series held in Switzerland

In the period from 21st April to 4th May 2018, i-platform organised four very successful cultural events under a common name (H)AJMO! (Let Us Go!). The event programme included a theatre play, a sevdalinka concert, a children's play and literary evening.

The (H)AJMO! event series aimed at supporting and promoting the cultural exchange between Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina. An exchange of know-how, skills, contacts, ideas, projects and initiatives is the main resource for the improvement and development of culture in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it therefore also supports the achievement of main goals of i-platform.

The cultural event series (H)AJMO! was opened on 21st April 2018 with the play of the well-known Sarajevo-based theatre SARTR entitled Jedvanosimsoboakalomistobo, which took place at the Kirchgemeinde Neumünster theatre in Zurich. The play is a social comedy focusing on the daily life in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the current migrations of its population and it has made a strong impression on the audience. The play was attended by more than hundred participants and was followed by an one-hour panel discussion with the actors and by refreshments, during which actors could socialise with the visitors in a pleasant atmosphere.

The performance of the sevdalinka singer, Amira Medunjanin, accompanied by the guitar player Ante Gelo, made it possible to promote the oral tradition of Bosnia and Herzegovina and resulted in the presence of numerous sevdalinka enthusiasts.

The children's theatre PurPur in Zurich was too small to receive all children interested in seeing the play on 29th April 2018. Zijah Sokolović explained the secret of our arrival to this world in his play Pretendedly, I was brought by a stork with his typical humour and in an interesting and instructive manner. A writer loved by all generations has confirmed once again his status of an ambassador of the youngest ones with his performance. Refreshments were served after the play, which was an occasion for the visitors to get to know and socialise with their favourite actor.
