Donor campaign "Let's clean the city in one day" launched: 10,000 CHF needed for cleaner Zenica
As many as 600 volunteers and activists will take part in the cleaning of Zenica, if the conditions are provided, with the direct support of the Bosnian diaspora.
What motivated us?
Unfortunately, the devastating data indicate that there are over 240 registered illegal landfills in the city, while, according to the Sava River Basin Agency, the Zenica-Doboj Canton is flooded with 400 illegal landfills. Aware of the consequences that illegal landfills can have on the health of the population, but also on drinking water and the overall eco-tourist image of the city, we decided to act! The project "Let's clean the city in one day" aims to solve the environmental problem, raise the environmental awareness of the population and enable the "interference" of the diaspora in creating a better future for all of us.
The activity plan
For a start, we plan to create organizational committees by regions, after which it is time to clean the most endangered urban and suburban zones. Thus, e.g. we plan to clean city streets and settlements, river banks, streams and neighborhoods, parks, parts of the main and regional road, and numerous villages.
We would start with this activity on August 21 at 8 am, and we should finish the works by 1:00 pm, after which we would take the collected waste to the regional landfill Mošćanica.
In the afternoon, we would focus on cleaning and arranging the famous Zenica resort Smetovi, where we would attend the opening ceremony of the fountain. Then we plan to put up warning boards and boards with creative messages, and organize appropriate socializing with the people of Zenica and the Zenica diaspora. We will certainly spice up the gathering by awarding prizes to donors and activists, but also by a futsal tournament. This will be an ideal opportunity to organize a live "Zenica Meetup" for the first time.
As mentioned above, the cost of this joint activity would be CHF 10,000.
