Brčko - a city at the crossroads

Walking in its streets, you can hear echoes of many histories - Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, Yugoslav, and more. Today, Brčko stands as a symbol of resilience: a place rebuilding, a city where people believe in connection, not walls.

In Brčko, the community is like a tapestry — diverse threads, different backgrounds, but woven together. You’ll see Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, everyone side by side. You’ll see local youth gathering in cafés, old men chatting along riverbanks, markets buzzing with voices of all ages. The spirit here feels alive.

Many from Brčko have moved abroad — to Europe, to the Americas, to elsewhere in the world. But leaving doesn’t always mean leaving behind.
