Bh. diaspora financially supported the start-up of a business for breeding and fattening 10,000 chickens in Breza

Yesterday in Breza, the newly built production facility for breeding and fattening chickens of the company "Kokoda", owned by the Hodžić family, was officially opened, which has a capacity for 10,000 chickens, and one of the investors is Ahmed Nefić, a Bosnian and Herzegovinian with a Swiss address, and a member of the i-diasporas network.

The total investment in the development of the company amounts to 540,000 KM, of which a favorable credit line and grant funds from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the amount of 128,900 KM were provided through the Development Bank of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Hodžić family came up with the idea of starting a family business after realizing that demand and the market will grow over time. Considering that it is very difficult to find support and financiers in BiH, especially when it comes to private businesses, Mr. Mahir points out that, despite the challenges, support has arrived.

It takes great courage and the risk is enormous. It was difficult to find support, but we managed. Many rejected us, but of course there are also people who supported our idea and invested in our family business. To persevere in starting a business like this, the most important thing is to have a good motive, and our motive is that the whole family is involved and that even the youngest help.

The co-owner and investor in this family business idea is Ahmed Nefić, a member of the i-diaspora network, a Bosnian and Herzegovinian with a Swiss address. Mr. Nefić, along with the Hodžić couple, also recognized the potential in this story, and decided to support it financially, and establish a bridge between the diaspora and the motherland. This is precisely what i-diaspora primarily works on.

I think it is very important for the diaspora to be involved in the processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, because it gives them a sense of connection with it, and Bosnia and Herzegovina's support means just as much to us.

Observing the situation of agricultural entities and their frequent withdrawal from that sphere, we were interested in how the Hodžić family views the position of agricultural entities today, as well as why they decided on this type of business.

Although we are not very familiar with the current position of agricultural entities in BiH, we deeply believe that our homeland has an agricultural perspective. The demand for chicken products has always been at a high level, and the production and distribution of these products is more affordable than others. Having seen the above, we decided to engage in the breeding and fattening of chickens in our homeland.

The opening of the company was graced by the presence of the Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Šemsudin Dedić, who symbolically cut the ribbon to make the system for feeding and watering the chickens official.
