The fourth Kladanj Meet Up was marked by the presence of new participants

Last Thursday, on January 14th, the fourth Kladanj Meet Up was held, which, in addition to numerous participants, was also attended by the Mayor of Kladanj, Mr. Jusuf Čavkunović.

New participants

As we announced, we entered the New Year richer for a large number of new participants of this Meet Up, so it is important to note that this time we were joined by Mrs. Mediha Kapo living in Atlanta, then Mrs. Dragana Đerić living in the Netherlands, Mrs. Dragana Čaušević, an immigrant to Kladanj and a representative of the Association "Woman to Woman", Mrs. Meliha Bečić living in Italy and Mr. Amel Jakupović who has been living in Sarajevo for many years.

It is a great happiness and pleasure to expand the circle of participants who, in addition to already well-known people and regular participants of Kladanj Meet Up, greatly increased the first this year meeting and greatly contributed to the continuation of our activities when it comes to this project. Of course, it is important to note that we were delighted by the presence of Mr. Jusuf Čavkunović, Mayor with whom the i-platform recently signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Activity overview

At the beginning of this meeting, the representative of the i-platform and a resident of Kladanj, Mrs. Dalida Karabdić, introduced the participants to the activities carried out so far, and stated, among other things, that, in gratitude for the successful donor campaign to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the central heating in the only Kladanj kindergarten "Edina Čamdžić", finalized and sent letters of thanks to the addresses of all donors.

At the same time, Ms. Karabdić introduced the participants to the activities related to the Association "Women to Women", which, according to her, were very progressive. Currently, the biggest problem facing the Association is the lack of work space. However, thanks to the project "I love my city" announced by the "Tuzla Community Foundation", funds in the amount of about 2.700 BAM have been provided, which will be spent on a part of water, sanitation, and electrical works, while the Municipality, as pointed out, in cooperation with the Public Enterprise Electric Utility of Bosnia and Herzegovina will conduct a three-phase electricity for the needs of this Association.

Furthermore, a significant donation was paid for this Association from the non-profit organization "Patriotic Lantern Fund" in the amount of 1.200 BAM. Also, for the needs of valuable members of the Association, one laptop was donated.

The participants of the Meet Up were also greeted by Mrs. Dragana Čaušević, a representative of the Association "Woman to Woman", who expressed gratitude for, as she says, animating the members of the Association, improving their daily lives and motivating them to work in general.

The Mayor did not hide his satisfaction with the project "Kladanj Meet Up" launched thanks to the correlation of the Kladanj diaspora and representatives of the i-platform. "Although it is still a matter of assembling the dice and progress in small steps, I expect a lot in the future from this project," said Mr. Čavkunović.

Also, Ms. Karabdić pointed out that it's in the process drafting an Action Plan that would make future activities easier to select and plan, and all participants in the Kladanj Meet Up, through proposals, will participate in its finalization.

Working group meetings are also planned for the end of January, so on January 20th, through the Zoom application, people will gather to discuss the topic "Sports, Youth and Children", on January 26th a group will gather to give suggestions on how to improve activities of the Association "Woman to Woman", while on January 28th, at a meeting of the working group, a discussion on small businesses is expected.

The next Kladanj Meet Up is scheduled for February 11th.
