Indeed, a lot of Bosnia and Herzegovina emigrants from Kladanj, living in many countries in Europe and also in the United States, gladly attended the meeting, which was organized via the Zoom application.
Delighted with the idea, mission and vision of the i-platform, our friends from this small town located in the northeast of Bosnia, thanks to the introductory presentation of Nikola Burić, Executive Director of the i-platform, were introduced to the realized projects of our organization. Therefore decided to give their contribution to future projects by spreading knowledge and experience and also by selflessly sharing ideas.
Joining forces to reach the solution
Aware of the problems that Kladanj, like most local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is facing, this initial meeting served as a guiding star for future activities, so the participants decided to join the forces and try to be part of the solution.
Attendees of the "Edina Čamdžić Kindergarten" in Kladanj, due to the lack of funds for reconstruction, are currently facing a burning problem - lack of central heating, which is why the future stay of children in this institution is uncertain. In order to solve this, as well as other problems of the mentioned local community, the participants of the first "Kladanj meetUp" claim that they will be very happy to help their fellow citizens.
"We are taking small steps. We are currently focused on small projects, and if we do a good thing on the micro level, we will certainly give a great chance to the children of Kladanj ", it was said, among other things, on this occasion.
Planned activities
Providing of educational trainings, economic empowerment of women, gender equality, healthy ageing, support for children with special needs, cycling and basketball, ski school, radio amateurs, media literacy, investing in eco-tourism, hiking and student exchange are just some of the potential future activities in to this small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
And in order for everything to go in the best way, but also for the ideas and designs expressed to really come to life, the representatives of the i-platform and the Kladanj diaspora will hold meetings every month, to the mutual satisfaction.
