Bijeljina Meet Up

Youth education - the focus of the third Bijeljina meetup

The third Bijeljina meetup was held, organized by i-platform and the City of Bijeljina. We have discussed about many things but education, youth and environmental protection were the main topics.

Protect our rivers

In cooperation with Helena Stojić, three projects have been agreed, which will run in parallel in cooperation with the "Ada" organization, which is actively working on cleaning the rivers of Bijeljina and its surroundings. A larger project is also on the table, where the river would be cleaned from Lapor to Ugljevik, all the way to Bijeljina. There we established a connection with our member Kubat Safet, a well-known activist who fights for environmental protection, and this project will be presented to the city administration of Bijeljina at the next meetup.

The world rests on the young

In order to educate young generations, it was agreed to hold trainings in primary schools on the topic of recycling to distribute brochures that will be printed in cooperation with several printing houses in Bijeljina.

IT is the future

On the topic of education in the IT sector, we have discussed about the project “Summer School of Mathematics and Programming”, which aims to bring together 70 mathematicians from BiH and in cooperation with the University of Economics and “Filip Višnjić” High School to host mathematicians and prepare them for future competitions while they are learning programming. Part of the program will also cover online education in programming, digital marketing, graphic design, photography for all interested in Bijeljina and the surrounding area, regardless of age, to help people who want to retrain and better position themselves in the labor market after the pandemic.

We would find educators in cooperation with IT agencies, and companies and organizations that have experts in this field and the project would begin on July 20th.
