We are talking about the beauties and significance of sevdalinka with Esad Bajtal

Tuesday, 18 May, 2021 - 20:00 to 21:30
After a slightly longer break, we return to the interesting lectures of the respected sociologist Esad Bajtal, who, in cooperation with the i-platform, traditionally organizes educational monthly virtual cafes for our companions.

This virtual coffee with Esad Bajtal is specific in the fact that, for the first time, it will be organized completely free of charge, so fans of sevdalinka and lectures by a respected sociologist will be able to access them with a simple registration by e-mail info [at] idijaspora.ch.

We will arrange a virtual coffee, as usual, via the Zoom platform, and the access link will be forwarded to all participants later.

We have scheduled the café for May 18 this year, starting at 8 PM!

Sevdalinka - alchemy of the soul

According to Mr. Bajtal, sevdalinka should be perceived as a love, social, female, male, but, according to him, in our society sevdalinka is often perceived exclusively as just a love and, moreover, as only a female song. "And that is not true. A more careful approach to this melopoetic phenomenon shows that it, as a sophisticated philosophy of life, covers the widest thematic circle and the entire spectrum of social topics ...", explains Bajtal.

This song from Bosnia and Herzegovina is a unique musical expression that can boast of a long and rich tradition. Sevdalinka, claims sociologist Bajtal, because of its universal sensibility and the way it is presented, both in poetic and melodic subtle expression, has not yet and may never be forgotten.

Therefore, if sevdalinka, or sevdah, arouses the deepest emotions in you, reminds you of your homeland and everything related to local culture and tradition, do not wait with the application! We are expecting you on May 18th!
