About the topic

Entrepreneurship is not only an economic category. It carries with it social characteristics specific to each community and culture, including the multimillion-strong Bosnian community abroad. This community has, apart from economic, strong emotional reasons why it invests in its homeland. In the webinar "Nostalgia or Business: Emotions and Entrepreneurship of the BiH Diaspora", we will talk about these, often neglected topics in entrepreneurship and migration studies - feelings of belonging as motives for investment, transnational identities, and the transgenerational transfer of nostalgia as factors for investing in BiH. We will analyze the show "I want to go home", media articles about young BiH entrepreneurs from the diaspora and talk about what cultural phenomena they encounter when opening a business in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
